INTEL PROCESSOR, TOSHIBA - SAMSUNG | ROADMAP 2016
Intel, Toshiba
and
Samsung
Electronics
will join forces
to
develop
technologies
that will
produce
about
a 10 nanometer
chips
in 2016. The three companies
will create
a short to a consortium, involving 10 companies
engaged
in
the
production
of
semiconductors.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan will provide 5 billion yen (61.21 million dollars) of about 10 billion in start-up fund for research and development, while the remainder will be invested by the consortium members.
The project is, public-private in nature and will be brought forward in the installation of Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture. The companies will work to produce ever smaller microprocessors - we know that the roadmap for Intel plans in 2015 to 11-nanometer processors (Intel, here is the full roadmap until 2019) - but also to realize a 10-nanometer NAND flash memory capacious and economic.
